There's no place like home.

It's not too often I get to take photos of my parents but this past weekend I was able to get them to pose for me on their farm. This is a glimpse of my parents as I see them everyday.
Goofy. Genuine. Hard working. Amazing.

Sunrise, Sunset

While at my parents this past weekend I played with shooting photos of the sunrise and sunset. It was pretty neat seeing how using different settings on my camera achieved different effects. Hopefully by the time I am shooting in Jamaica in November I will be a pro at sunset shots :)

Exciting News!

A photo I took will be placed in the next issue of Area Woman's magazine! The designer of the magazine sent me the ad and I can hardly wait to see it printed in the magazine! As a Graphic Designer I have had my designs in all sorts of magazines, including the major magazine, Seventeen. HOWEVER, this is the first time I have had a photograph I have taken used in a magazine! UBER exciting if you ask me!

I had the pleasure of taking Brandi's photo as featured in the ad below.

Brandi

Brandi is the mom of the two adorable kids I photographed last weekend. She asked me today if I could take some quick head shots of her for work. We actually just headed right outside where I live and took some quick photos. It's not too hard to take good photos of such a pretty person!

Blessed.

I received a quick email from a friend that lives in Kansas. It made my day to hear such awesome feedback about something I am so passionate about!

Email-
"I really wish we lived closer together so you could capture my kids in photos. You have it girl. You capture the spirit of the child and that's hard to do. The parents will love these pics forever and remember what their lives where like at this very moment. So good. So beautiful...such a great gift you have. Really. Have a blessed day!"

Sneak Peak-Maya and Corban

This morning I had the pleasure of photographing two adorable little kids! I think I could take photos of Maya all day if she let me, she's such a pretty little girl and so petite. Here's a sneak peak into our photo shoot from this morning...more to come later!

Random Photo #4 and #5

I spent my morning driving around the Fargo/Moorhead area looking for the perfect location to take some children's portraits for my shoot tomorrow morning. Of course I couldn't resist taking photos of everything I saw! Here are two photos of some flowers I found while out exploring.

Photoshop Fun

It's funny what you can come up with when your procrastinating from doing the work you really need to get done. :)

Grandpa

This is one of those moments you just want to freeze for all eternity. This is one of those moments that will remain in my memory of my grandpa forever.

This was taken at his house the last time I was there. He was sitting in his usual chair at the end of the kitchen table, staring out the window, just like he always does.

Krystal + Mitch along with the CUTEST dog on earth! ;-)

While showing my friend Krystal my blog the other day she pointed out that I had pictures of a dog on my blog and called him the "cutest little dog ever". Obviously I used the word "little" for a reason. Gunnar definitely has the market on the cutest "big" dog ever! I took these family photos a few years back but thought I would still post them so the rest of the world can see their baby :)

Random Photo #3

I can't help but take a few photos of pretty flowers whenever I stumble across their path. These are planted in my Aunt Julie's front yard. There was zero photo retouching or color correcting done to this photo.
